The Rev. Canon Kelli Grace Kurtz †, Vicar.
The Reverend Canon Kelli Grace Kurtz (“Mother Kelli Grace”) is a native of
California. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from California
State University at Fullerton and a Master’s of Arts in Religion from Claremont
School of Theology. She has served various congregations in the Diocese of
Los Angeles as a lay director of religious education, as a vocational deacon and
now as a priest. Bishop Bruno has called her to be a canon of the Diocese as
one of his special advisors on mission congregations. She describes herself
as “Momma. Priest. Wife. Friend. Passionate about life and love, justice and
peace. Striving to be compassionate as God is compassionate.” Her vocational
profile strengths of preaching, teaching, administration and youth ministry line up
exactly with the congregational priorities at Saint John’s. She studied dance as
a young adult, loves hiking, reading and traveling. Church camp has a special
place in her heart. She and her husband Mark have four young adult children.
She is most interested in and prayerful about how the people of Saint John’s are
living into their vision statement to “invite everyone at anytime to feel and know
the love of God by entering into a holy and vital relationship with Christ and each
other.”
